We're excited to kick off our 2016 Wine Class Series with a trip to diverse Sonoma County on Tuesday, March 8 from 5:30 - 7:00pm. Viticulture in Sonoma County dates back to the 19th century when immigrants from Mediterranean countries arrived in the region and began planting vines. Today, Sonoma is home to over 400 wineries across 16 diverse regions. We'll explore three areas; The Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley.
Hailey Cahill from Southern Wine Company will be our guide through the area and explain how this area is strongly influenced by maritime variations. Cool nights and days that rarely get hot contribute to layers of oceanic fog that creep into Sonoma’s interior valleys. Some of the wines we'll taste and learn about are:
Mac Murray Russian River Chardonnay, 2013
Frei Brothers Dry Creek Zinfandel, 2013
Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet, 2012
Frei Brothers Alexander Valley Cabernet, 2013
The cost is $30 per person and includes a taste of each wine and three small plate appetizers to complement the wines. Seating is limited to 24 guests; make your pre-paid reservations today by calling Ambrosia at 541-342-4141.
