Enjoy a taste of the islands – the Mediterranean islands – of Sicily and Sardinia, at Ambrosia's second wine dinner of the year on Wednesday, March 6, at 5:30 pm. Both of these Italian islands changed hands multiple times throughout history, and the Spanish roots of Sardinia’s wines are evident. Sicily has recently been recognized for its quality table wines, with notable elegance, sweet tannins and impressive balance.
Todd Bacon, who is the Italian wine expert for Young's Market, will present seven wines from Sicily and one from Sardinia. The wines will be paired with a five-course dinner prepared by Ambrosia's talented kitchen staff and inspired by the rich culinary tradition of the region. Mahi Mahi was chosen for Sicily's variety of tuna, and Bottarga is a delicacy of Sardenia. The Cassatta Cake is a traditional dessert of Sicily - it’s amazing!
