Ambrosia's next Wine Class & Sale will feature six wines from Woodward Canyon Winery of Walla Walla on Tuesday, October 4 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Started in 1981, Woodward Canyon has consistently produced premium, cellar worthy Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and many other varietals.
Early on, winemaker Rick Small determined that quality would take precedence over quantity. Consequently, Woodward Canyon has remained small, increasing its production from 1,200 cases in 1981 to our current production of about 15,000 cases. About 7,000 of this total production is Nelms Road, Woodward Canyon's second label.
Woodward Canyon is a founding member of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance and of Walla Walla Valley Vinea, the Winegrower's Sustainable Trust.
The winery’s national sales manager, Thomas Woodley, and regional manager, Selena Kritsonis, will be our guides in learning about the wines. A few of the highlights:
- Washington State Chardonnay, 2014 (Scored 91 points by Wine Advocate)
- Woodward Canyon Sauvignon Blanc, 2014
- Columbia Valley Merlot, 2013 (Scored 90 points by Wine Advocate)
- "Artist Series" Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013 (Scored 94 points by Wine Advocate)
The event includes a taste of all six wines and small plates to complement the wines prepared by Ambrosia's inimitable kitchen staff. The cost is $30 pp. Space is limited to 22 people. Make your prepaid reservations by calling Ambrosia at 541-342-4141. You’ll receive a 10% discount when you purchase 12 bottles or more at the event.
