Our next Wine Class explores wines from Allegrini Winery on Wednesday, April 22 from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
Taste the “Best of Valpolicella” at our next wine tasting and class. We will feature six wines from Allegrini Winery, including the most famous Amarone Wine. Now in its sixth century of wine making, Allegrini is considered the best winery of the Valpolicella region of Italy. This class is limited to 22 people and will be the last class before our summer recess.
The Allegrini family has played a leading role in the history of Valpolicella since the 16th century and has passed the culture of wine making handed down from one generation to the next. At the wine tasting, you will explore several wines that come from the family's 100 hectares of Hillside vineyards, including Amarone wine, which is produced in such a unique way that it will age for more than 40 years.
We'll taste six wines, here are a few of the highlights:
- Poggio al Tesoro Solosole Vermentino, Toscana IGT 2013
- Allegrini La Grola Veronese IGT 2010
- Poggio al Tesoro Sondraia Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2011
- Allegrini Amarone Classico DOC 2009
The six wines will be accompanied by small plates prepared by Ambrosia's inimitable chefs, Doug and Rory. Cost is $30 per person and space is limited to 22 people and you'll get a 10% discount when you purchase any combination of 12 bottles. Stock up on your favorites!
